Volunteers work improve the foothpath along Plough Road
Burstow Parish Council are working in conjunction with Community Volunteers to improve the accessibility of the footpath along Plough Road.
Over time the width of the path has narrowed to the extend that for much of it it is not possible for 2 people walking alongside each other. This is due to overgrowth on up to a third of the width of the path.
Whilst we can’t do anything about the telegraph pole in the middle of the path, the Community Volunteers will be working to clear the overgrowth to help pedestrians, particularly those with children who walk to and from the school.
Hopefully everyone will appreciate the work being done and be supportive to those doing the work if you see them.

Surrey County Council have been made aware that flooding may have occurred in the Smallfield / Burstow area on May 9th.
Residents should report any flooding issues as follows:
How to report:
The Police have noticed an increase in the number of ‘close pass’ incidents lately, with reports both of horses running loose on country roads, and of drivers passing too close to riders.
We investigate every report we’re made aware of. If you’re a driver and come across horses running loose in the road, or a rider who has been involved in a close pass incident, we strongly encourage you report it to us. Riders can also use the Horse i app to report incidents to the British Horse Society: https://www.bhs.org.uk/go-riding/report-an-incident/incident-report-form/
