Parish Council Meetings
5th October 2020


Members of the public wishing to attend a parish council meeting will only be permitted to attend virtually through 'Zoom'. This is to ensure we do not exceed safe numbers within a room at any given time. Please contact the Parish Clerk to obtain the meeting password. You will be required to give your full name and contact details.


Apple & Cor Cafe Hot Food Takeaway
20th March 2020


Starting on Monday 23rd March Apple & Cor will be offering hot meals to take away.


The cafe will be open between 11 am and 3 pm, Monday through to Friday.


Call Anette and Ben on 07808 338466 to place your order. Payment can also be made over the phone.


Orders can be collected from the Centenary Hall car park near to the wishing well garden.


The meals offered will depend on what ingredients can be sourced but you can find out by calling up.

Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms


Stay at home if you have either:


a high temperature - this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

a new, continuous cough - this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

Covid 19 Update Centenary Hall
20th March 2020


In light of the Governments advice to limit social contact the Parish Council has taken the decision to close the Centenary Hall. Initially for a 4 week period but this will be reviewed regularly.


All activities at the Hall have been cancelled. If you have a booking you will be contacted in due course.


The Clerk is working from home where possible but can still be contacted either through email on or through our regular phone number 01342 841880.


The Annual Parish Meeting on Monday 20th April has been cancelled. We are waiting on advice from NALC about whether this should be rescheduled.


The VE Day event scheduled for Friday 8th May has been postponed to a date sometime in the future.


The Friday cafe from Apple & Cor has temporarily stopped but will be offering a takeaway service from Monday 23rd March


The Parish Council are working on other schemes to help the community through this difficult time and will keep you updates.


Stop Loan Sharks - Covid 19
20th March 2020


The England Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT) recognise that this period may be one of increased financial pressure for

some people.

The Team is committed to ensuring that illegal money lenders (loan sharks) do not take advantage and profit

from other people's hardship.

The Stop Loan Sharks helpline service remains open and fully operational during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We encourage not only victims but friends, family members and the wider community to come forward if they suspect

someone is suffering at the hands of loan sharks.

VE Day Commemoration Day Celebration
7th February 2020


The Parish Councils of Burstow and Horne are holding a VE Day celebration/commemoration


on Friday 8th May from 2.00 to 9.00pm at the Centenary Hall on Wheelers lane, Smallfield.


All are invited to join us to mark the occasion. There will be music of the day, hog roast (limited to first come) market stalls, a small remembrance ceremony, children's entertainment and much more.

Hot Food at Cafe Nearu, Centenary Hall

Burstow Parish Council are delighted that there is now a hot, freshly cooked, food option at the Centenary Hall. This will take place only on Fridays from 8.30am to 4.30pm.


Come along and try the All Day Breakfast, or lunch of Fish Chips and Mushy Peas, or try something else.

New Wheeled Black Rubbish Bins

Since the introduction of the new black rubbish bins from Tandridge District Council we have received many queries and concerns e.g size, collections etc.
